Evening at the Fed: Dinner and Discussion for Educators

When it comes to making payments, today’s consumers have more choices than ever. Matt Davies, payments outreach officer for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, will discuss the role of the Federal Reserve in the U.S. payments system and highlight hot topics in payments today, including the “chip cards” that have begun to replace traditional credit, debit and prepaid cards. Davies will also shed light on innovations in mobile payments, such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Android Pay, and on the increasing options for making person-to-person (P2P) payments.

Virtual Economics 4.5 and the Stock Market Game - Session at Region 10





TCEE offers an all day training on how to use hands-on and relevant economic and personal financial literacy concepts using the Stock Market GameTM and Learning, Earning, and Investing. Introduce students to the world of personal finance through lessons that provide active learning experiences to help students master the basics of investing. Lessons cover basics such as the language of financial markets, gathering information on investments, and the nature of financial institutions in the U.S. economy. Learn how to access free resources using Econ Ed Link and Gen I Revolution.

Important Session Information:
Participants will receive a Virtual Economics 4.5 with 1400 economics and financial literacy lessons.

Revised Math TEKS: Supporting Information for Grades 5 & 8

TEA has released Supporting Information for grades 5 & 8 related to the Revised (2012) TEKS.

Personal Financial Literacy: K-5

Did you know our youngest of learners are building their knowledge of personal financial literacy?  With our Revised (2012) TEKS, children in kindergarten through grade 8 are learning to manage their financial resources effectively for a lifetime of financial security!

How powerful is it that we are working to equip our learners to be responsible with their financial decision making?  Understanding wants and needs, spending, saving, and charitable giving begins before age 7!
